vezanmatics's News

And with episode 2's completion, ETX is finally caught up and from here on out it will diverge greatly from the earlier series. And it only took... since February 2017!? Jeez. I'm really happy I split it into 3 parts...

Here's the episode 2 SUPERCUT: Over 10 minutes of pure unadulterated uh, ...episode 2!!!

I didn't really like needing to retread the earlier series but it had to be done to establish the new canon. Now I look forward to moving my series ahead instead of back!

I think I'll take a short break from ETX to make another unrelated comedy short like the Tim Curry Space Commies one. For now that's a secret.

I'm really excited to begin EPISODE 3 after that. Trox is so much fun for me and I will love introducing him animated.

TroxGeo

Until next time!

...BUT ETX WON'T STAY DEAD.

Yea, yea, I know. This is like the third time I've tried to reboot ETX. I figure most people would've moved on by now, and here I am clinging to this single premise for a series and trying with all my might to make it succeed. Dedication? Or insanity?

It's both, really. I have this sentimentality towards this IP of mine and I'm really not willing to let go of it so easily.

That said, this time I'm going into making ETX with a process, and a plan. I've learned a lot over my 3 years of animating professionally, and I've taken a very streamlined and eh. "Efficient" approach to animating these things, in a way that takes only a few months as opposed to many. Plus, I'm working with others this time. But why are you reading this when you could watch it? I do have a video after all. https://youtu.be/so8QJ31A_dQ

Plus, I already have a bit of a backlog on YT, so you'll be seeing those few videos here as well shortly.

For my next comic project I'm strongly considering using a flash motion format. Gotta do a test run first tho

This is the most ambitious thing I've ever made. Enjoy!

Probably the last big enormous project I ever do. I intend to upload more frequently, in the form of smaller animated shorts that are more community-oriented.

Just wanted you guys to know that I'm working on something both new and old, and that it's going to blow everyone away. It has a very positive transhumanist message.

Speaking of, what do you all think of transhumanism?

For those who haven't heard of it, it's basically the idea that we humans will direct our own evolution with technology and that it will be a major turning point in our history. Could even lead to transcendence of old human limitations, like death and being confined to one body, and it could happen in our lifetime! (You won't have to participate if you don't want to, more for the rest of us.)

ET Excursion plays with transhumanist themes a bit, but not as much as I like since the future continuity is overall pretty dark (cataclysm in the near future, humanity spends the next 1 million years trying to recover from it). It involves a slowed pace of technological advancement and arbitrary limitations place on how transhuman they're allowed be. I want to create an alternate continuity where none of this happens.

As for ETX, it's going through a bit of development hell right now but that's because the small Philadelphia studio I was working with couldn't really handle the pressure of developing an animated show and needed to focus on something that wouldn't bankrupt them before they finished. So, now the offer is being kicked around from studio to studio in LA. If another, better studio picks it up this might be a great thing, since it will be done faster and more efficiently. Fingers crossed!

I've also become much more active on Twitter as part of one of my New Year's resolutions to be more active on social media. FOLLOW ME, DO IT

After a year-and-a-half hiatus, E.T. Excursion has returned!

ANNOUNCEMENT: The future of ETX as a series looks bright! I have a golden opportunity to produce my IP into a full-fledged animated show that will subsequently be pitched to multiple networks. An actual, professional pilot is in the works as I type this!

Even if I don't proceed boldly into the world of HBO or whatever, I just want you all at Newgrounds to know that I've always enjoyed participating. The rush of submitting something new is just too good to pass up, and so I will continue to put a disproportionate amount of effort into animated shorts you'll only be able to enjoy for 7 minutes and submit them!

A big Thank You to Tom and the rest of the Newgrounds team for hosting such a great platform for creativity.

This is a short 45-second intro sequence I made for my senior project. I graduated art school as of 09/26/2014 and some big stuff is in the works.

Made using Flash, Maya, and Aftereffects. Enjoy!

Got inspired coming back from the beach after seeing an ugly, high-pollution industrial complex next to a quiet suburban neighborhood. This coupled with the NSA debacle and proposed intervention in Syria is enough to make an entire generation cynical. Trust neither the Dems nor the GOP, for both are on opposite sides of the same evil coin.

This is probably the first time I've ever made a political artwork.
